Frequently asked questions
What is a HEIC file?
The format the iPhone has used for photos since iOS 11. It is compact, but Windows and many websites cannot open it, so it is usually converted to JPG.
How do I open a HEIC file?
You can open it right here to convert it into something more convenient. If your computer does not recognise it, the practical move is to convert it to a universal format such as JPG or PNG.
What is the maximum HEIC size here?
100 MB. That is the cap we work with for this format so conversion stays fast and reliable.
Are my HEIC files uploaded to a server?
No. We never receive them, so there is nothing to store and nothing to delete.
